Below are the main lines of the projectProject focus

 

Inventory of traditional Beninese medicine practices, research and higher education: 

Training of 30 university teachers and researchers in phytomedicine and phytopharmacy  

Creation of a national reference laboratory for medicinal plant research  

Training experts in phytomedicine and phytopharmacy   

Implementation of a training program for 240 traditional healers

Specific objectives

The specific objectives of the MINNAGAN project are:
Strengthening Education and Health Skills in Benin
Improve the quality of higher education in Benin and strengthen competences relevant to the labour market in the health sector of Beninese society
Promoting Inclusive Education and Collaboration
promote inclusive education, by
1.) offering virtual mobility opportunities to academic staff
members unable to benefit from physical mobility and
2.) actively aiming to engage traditional
medicine practitioners in cooperation and training offered by university researchers and teachers,building grounds for their active participation in the envisioned shift towards evidence-based use
of phytomedicines
Enhancing Student Competence and Employability
Improve the competence level, skills and employability potential of students by developing new multidisciplinary training program and innovative teaching methods within a field with significant societal need
Upskilling and International Collaboration
Improve the knowledge base and internationalisation of Beninese universities by upskilling of academic personnel and establishing collaboration with Finnish and Spanish academics.
